Can we get our treble back?

HONESTLY, i can't really understand why so many of United fans want United to buy another players - i just can't pick who're to buy. It's simply because our squad - to be honest - is the strongest ManUnited squad in the history. Stronger than 1999? Yes!

98/99 season probably the most successful ManUnited's season in our history. Kicked off the season without winning a trophy in previous season, it was a stupid start as we have to wait until early October to be in top 5.

Yorke and Cole
United's new striker at that time, Dwight Yorke, who came from Aston Villa for a transfer fee of £12.6m has adapted really well. Alongside Andy Cole, the duo probably the best duo Manchester United ever had. Both scored 53 goals in the season, which was fantastic.

Ole scores in north-west derby
And you can't forget the man who surely has massive respect, The Baby Assassin a.k.a Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Before the season kicked off, ManUtd were in talks for him with Spurs. Spurs offered with more playing time than his time in ManUtd, and so ManUtd accepted Spurs' bid, it surely Ole on his way to Spurs. but it was not Ole Solskjaer - he decided to stay.
Beckham with his trademark FK
vs Juventus

The class of 92 were showing off their talent that season. Sparkling season with consistent and passion to win was their major thing to took off. Scholes and Beckham quickly became first choice in midfield, while Nicky Butt became Roy Keane's backup. The Neville brothers were also shining, Gary had the right back position, while Phil backed up Irwin, and sometimes play in midfield.

Giggs really sparkling in 98/99 season. Really consistent along the season, and always confidence on the ball. Rewarded a left wing position - made new comers Jesper Blomqvist was his back up. His best? You just can't forget his goal vs Arsenal in FA Cup SemiFinal, which was in loss time, 10-men down, and huge pressure. A miss placed pass from Viera was OK to made this great goal.

The game of the year was simply the Champions League Final. Mario Bassler of Bayern Munich scored with a low free kick in the first half, wasn't inaf when United dramatically scored 2 goals in 3 minutes in added time.

3 trophies, 3 victories, one history, one club. Simply fantastic.
Rooney-RvP
Can they become the new Yorke-Cole?
Question is, can we do the same this season like what we have done in 98/99 season?

van Persie came as a new striker, but famous, like Yorke did in early 98/99. Partnered with Rooney who
has already years in United, they're probably the most dangerous duo striker in the world. Just what Yorke and Cole did.

Little time, big effect
Teddy Sheringham and Solskjaer maybe had little play time compared to Yorke-Cole, and their goal tally weren't as good as Yorke-Cole due to their play time. But, they were effecting the team really much - the 2 goals in Camp Nou were theirs. Just like Hernandez-Welbeck, they're at the moment really effecting the team so much. Hernandez, has scored 12 goals in just 14 apps (1/2). While Welbeck still hasn't score a goal since 12 games, but he's quick along the wing role.

Giggs and Scholes
the only players from 98/99
who currently still playing
Giggs and Scholes is the only remaining players who played in 98/99 season. Their experiences surely needed by the team. Giggs has changed, he isn't a speed demon winger anymore, but nowdays he use his deadly accurate pass as his big knife. Scholes still intelligent in building attacks. But, one thing for sure, United aren't based on them - We already have many promoting youngsters to replace them. Young, Valencia, Carrick are some of the seniors who have already building the team stronger. While, Powell, Cleverley, Rafael are some of the youngsters who promising in the future.
