Will Nick Powell fills Paul Scholes’ boots?

“Paul Scholes” another legend in the history of Manchester United. Paul Scholes is a pass master that only a few players compare to, able to hit a ball the length of the field and land it on a dime.
I don’t need to say something about him, we all know very well about his talent.

Greats from Xavi to Zidane have called him the best midfielder they’ve ever played against. He played 700+ games for Manchester United.  But one day Scholes will also get retired. After this can the world will be able see another Scholes?

Sir Alex knows it very well and might be this is the reason why he bought a young 18 year old player from a club  Crewe, named  “Nick Powell”.

Nick Powell is an English footballer, during his tremendous 11/12 season in Crewe, he has made 45 appearances for Crewe and managed to score 16 goals. Nick Powell won many awards in Crewe, like “Young Player of The Season – 2012”, “Crewe Player of The Season – 2012” etc.

Powell joined Manchester United in summer of 2012 with a transfer fee for about £4 million. Scholes made his 700th outing for Manchester United in the 4-0 win over Wigan while 18-year-old Powell came on as a sub for his debut, and scored a goal hitting 20 yards. On that Sir Alex Ferguson said on MUTV  “Nick Powell is going to be a really good player, He has a great temperament, is two-footed and quick. He is a good physical specimen and has terrific vision. We hope Powell fills Paul Scholes' boots.”

Powell made some appearances for Manchester United and played well in that with scoring a goal after coming as a sub for Scholes against wigan. Powell is struggling to fight with another midfielders at Manchester United to get his place. He plays some good football despite he is only 18, to watch him play is like a breath of fresh air, He’s such a classy player a Joy to watch. With no doubt Manchester United got an amazing player in there hands.

Darren Flecther said about Nick Powell about his progress so far at United:
“Nick's  touch, awareness, ability and eye for a goal is great.  I am not saying he is another Scholesy because he is the best player I have ever played with. Let’s just hope [Nick] can concentrate on being Nick Powell because I am sure he will be a great player for Manchester United.”

We too hope that Nick Powell concentrate on just being Nick Powell right now. Don’t know in future he will be as good as Scholes, but one thing is for sure he’s gonna be a great player in future, a breath taking one.
